If you are a “ROM-a-holic” who loves flashing new ROMS on to your Galaxy SII, Dual Booting is definitely for you.

What dual boot basically means is that the phone has the ability to run two ROMS simultaneously. This is very helpful to the people who are willing to flash new ROMS on to their phones all the time as well as people who are flashing ROMS on-the-go. It is useful because you have the ability of keeping your current ROM as well as flashing a new one. Keeping your current ROM ensures that all your applications, messages and contacts are untouched and remain in your phone’s memory, un-deleted.

Also since you have the option of flashing a new ROM, you have a chance to experiment with it and figure out which is the best ROM suited for you.

The dual booting option can only be enabled by flashing a kernel known as “Siyah Kernel”. If you are familiar with flashing new ROMS, this will not be difficult for you. But in case you are new to the whole flashing routine, you can follow the link at the bottom for more details on that.

Once you have flashed the new kernel, all the dual boot options will be freely available in the recovery mode. It is all very simple and very easy to do. But I must add that flashing is done at your own risk. We take no responsibility for it.
